Juanjo Fernández Rivero

Juanjo Fernández is an audiovisual artist, producer, and founder of Gnomalab Estudio, a research and creation space dedicated to video art, immersive installations, and site-specific audiovisual experiences since 1998. He began his career in Barcelona's underground scene as a video jockey in the late 1990s and, since then, has presented projects, performances, and installations at festivals and cultural venues across Europe, Asia, and the Americas.

He has been part of several live audiovisual experimentation collectives and the A/V duo The Suicide of Western Culture, performing at international festivals such as Sónar, Primavera Sound, SXSW, and Eurosonic, among others. He combines his artistic practice with the production of cultural projects and teaching. Currently, he is a professor at the Center for Image and Multimedia Technology (CITM) of the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC), where he teaches subjects related to audiovisual creation and multimedia technologies.
